The first bottle-to-bottle PET recycling plant using the Krones (www.krones.com) process is being built in Bangladesh. The Managing Director, Sk. Bashir Uddin, the visionary entrepreneur now heading the broadly diversified Akij Group of his deceased father Akij Uddin, anticipates tangible cost advantages from admixing PET recyclate to the preform production process. The plant will feature a washing module for 1.000 kg/h and a bottle-to-bottle module for 500 kg/h. Krones is according to its own statement the only manufacturer able to offer the entire recycling process involved, with both a washing module and a B2B module for producing food-quality PET from used PET material. It supplements Akij Food´s facility near the capital Dhaka, where a PETAsept line, a PET CSD line and a canning line have already been installed by Krones AG, Neutraubling, together with the entire process technology in each case. The plant bottles juices, soft drinks and sensitive beverages. Together with the bottle-to-bottle PET recycling plant, this is a greenfield installation unrivalled on the entire Indian subcontinent. The bottle-to-bottle PET recycling plant will go into operation early in 2009. Photo: The first bottle-to-bottle PET recycling plant using the Krones process is being built at Akij Food |
