Zeppelin takes over the business of mht GmbH & Co. KG, Ludwigsburg

The industrial sector of the Zeppelin group of which Zeppelin Silos & Systems GmbH (www.zeppelin-industry.com) is the head company, has taken over the business of the plant designing company mht material handling technologies GmbH & Co. KG, Ludwigsburg. By taking over this business, Zeppelin consequently continue their strategy of growing by extending their competence fields. The new business falls under the purview of the subsidiary company Zeppelin Materials Handling GmbH, Friedrichshafen, which mainly provide the market for the plastic processing industry.

mht employ 23 staff members in Ludwigsburg and they are specialized in the engineering and supply of plants for the plastic processing industry. The company has developed a special know-how with respect to processing during the manufacturing process of plastic pipes, profiles, windows, cables, foils and floor covering. In the field of PVC processing as well as for conveying and drying of insulating material for high-duty cables, mht achieved their own technologies and corresponding references which are protected by patent.

Zeppelin is worldwide one of the leading plant designers for conveying, storing, blending and dosing of high-class bulk solids such as plastic pellets or powder. With the technology of mht a further essential field of plastic processing can be added. „Due to the takeover we have opened a new market for us“, said Peter Gerstmann who is the CEO of the Zeppelin industrial sector. „And on this market which is new for us, the customers will profit from our systems idea as well as from the advantages of a turn-key supply from a single source“.

mht will be handled as a subsidiary of Zeppelin Materials Handling GmbH in Ludwigsburg and as a competence center for PVC systems. The specialists of mht will have direct access to the technology center in Friedrichshafen as well as to the research and development facilities.
