Eifler Kunststoff-Technik: Manufacturing of technically complex modules and systems

Eifler Kunststoff-Technik GmbH & Co. KG (EKT, www.eifler-kt.de) has specialised more and more in the manufacture of technically complex modules and systems over the past few years. They include the most varied manufacturing processes and refining processes both under the company´s own auspices and with external partners. The photo on the right shows you a complete vacuum cleaner handle which is produced as a complete assembly in a number of different variants for different countries at EKT. The product process naturally includes the final functional and safety test and the production of all plastic parts in single-component and two-component processes, the assembly of the most varied components such as the mains cord, the cable harness, switch assembly, etc. as well as the final 100% inspection and a just-in-time delivery of the products to our customers.

A further emphasis is on the manufacture of first-class visible parts in a high-gloss finish both in the production process of injection moulding and in the back injection or front injection of decorated films. A great number of different customer demands on depth effect, scratch resistance, surface gloss and optical brilliance are satisfied here and are in some cases protected against very different influences until they reach the final customer. The photo on the left shows a vacuum cleaner application in which a polycarbonate film laminated with a protective film is back-printed, mechanically pre-shaped in the cycle of the injection moulding machine and back injected. The demand on this product was to generate protection for the graphic while simultaneously creating a certain depth effect. In addition, a corresponding carrier part was produced which was designed to realise the back injection capability, on the one hand, and the use of fastening elements, on the other hand.
