![]() The rotor of the lump granulator is made from one piece of metal and therefore has enormous stability in transfer of even high torque. The geometry used for the blades enables a cutting principle that is based on a so-called “peeling cut”, combined with limitation of cutting depth. This prevents the rotor blade from penetrating too deeply into the plastic lumps being shredded. The material is “peeled off” from the lumps so that blockage of the rotor is prevented and fast and energy-saving shredding is guaranteed. This type of granulator is usually applied to shredding of polyolefins and many engineering plastics. The ground material produced is characterized by its quality in terms of homogeneity and a low level of dust. The diameter of the 6-blade U-CUT rotor used is 300 mm, with working width of 450 mm. As they are reversible, the U-CUT blades can be used on both sides and re-sharpened many times. Achievable throughput performance amounts to approx. 250-500 kg/h with screen perforation diameters of approx. 5-12 mm and installed drive power of 30 kW. Overall weight amounts to approx. 2,200 kg. An entire sound protection enclosure for the lump granulator can also be offered as an option.
