Econ Solutions: Energy Management and Load Control for Plastics Processors

(Image: Econ Solutions).
At Fakuma 2026, Econ Solutions will showcase solutions for operational energy management and dynamic load management. Together with ProSeS, Osphim and Aventum, the company will demonstrate how energy, production, quality and process data can be consolidated and evaluated within a digitalized process chain.

The focus is on the “econ4” energy management software. It records energy consumption and energy flows in real time and provides the data for analyses, key performance indicators, and cost and CO₂ reports. Interfaces allow not only energy data but also operating and machine data from machine data acquisition (MDE), production data acquisition (BDE) and ERP systems, as well as data from electricity meters, sensors and other components, to be integrated.

At Fakuma 2026, the company will demonstrate integration with several industry-specific applications. These include the “Aventum.ERP Sage Wincarat” ERP solution for commercial and production processes, ProBDE and “Quipsy” from ProSeS for recording production and quality data, and Osphim for AI-supported setup and optimization of injection molding processes. The aim is to create a continuous flow of information that makes energy consumption, production processes, quality data and process parameters available for integrated use.

With its “econ peak” load management system, Econ Solutions is also addressing the increasing integration of photovoltaic systems, battery storage, charging infrastructure and other electrical loads. The system continuously monitors power drawn from the grid and controls connected consumers, charging points, generators and storage systems according to the current load situation.

Control can be adapted to operational requirements using schedules and customized logic. Day-ahead electricity prices can also be taken into account. Flexible loads can therefore be shifted preferentially to lower-cost periods. Battery storage systems can be charged when prices are low and used for self-supply when prices are higher. The system supports devices from different manufacturers, allowing it to be integrated into a variety of technical infrastructures.

As part of the trade fair program, Knud Clausen from Econ Solutions’ Technical Sales department will also present practical examples from plastics processing. The presentation “Saving Energy, Reducing Costs: Successful Projects from the Plastics Industry” will take place on October 14, 2026, from 10:20 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the East Conference Center, Berlin Room.
