Amis presents size reduction systems for injection molding and blow molding waste

Amis Maschinen-Vertriebs GmbH will present two system concepts for the size reduction and recycling of plastic waste at Fakuma 2026. The exhibits will include the "Zerma GST 400/600" granulator for inline processing and the combined "Zerma ZCS 1400" shredder-granulator system.

Inline size reduction for injection molding and blow molding operations
The compact "Zerma GST 400/600" granulator is designed for use in injection molding and blow molding plants. It features a rotor diameter of 400 mm, a working width of 600 mm and a 22 kW drive.

According to Amis, typical applications include the processing of bottles, canisters, crates, sprues and injection-molded parts. A tangential feed configuration and open rotor design are intended to facilitate the processing of bulky plastic components. For use close to production lines, the machine is housed in a sound-insulated enclosure.

Pre-shredding and granulation combined in one system
The "Zerma ZCS 1400" combines a shredder and granulator in a single system. It is designed for applications in which bulky or heavy plastic parts first have to be pre-shredded before being reduced to a smaller particle size. The vertical arrangement of the two processing stages also reduces the system's footprint compared with a separate two-stage setup.

In the first stage, a shredder performs the initial size reduction. The material is then fed directly into the granulator rotor located below. An electronic control system coordinates the operation of both processing stages.

The configuration on display at Fakuma 2026 features a shredder rotor with a working width of 1,400 mm and a diameter of 400 mm, powered by a 45 kW drive. The downstream granulator has a rotor diameter of 350 mm and is driven by a 22 kW motor.

Both systems are intended for the in-house recycling of plastic production waste. While the "Zerma GST 400/600" is designed for the direct granulation of production scrap from injection molding and blow molding processes, the "Zerma ZCS 1400" combines pre-shredding and granulation for larger and heavier parts in a compact system layout.
