In order to meet the increasing demand for ever more sustainable packaging options, the new Packaging Development Centre will help to accelerate the development of new packaging formats and materials. The Packaging Development Centre was built in accordance with the new and effective energy standards.

Marcel Schopen, Department Manager Test Field, Prototype & Pilot Plant at SIG: "In today's rapidly evolving food and beverage industry, it is essential to always be one step ahead in the development of new products. This also includes the packaging of a product. Our state-of-the-art Packaging Development Centre enables us to support our customers with complete end-to-end solutions. We will be able to develop and validate new packaging solutions and innovative packaging materials even faster and more efficiently. Together with our existing facilities for co-creation and test filling of food and beverage products, we can produce packaging sleeves, fill products in accordance with food hygiene regulations and place them on pallets - so we work like mini-factories for the production of packaging and the filling of food and beverages from start to finish."
