Solvin (www.solvinpvc.com) awards prizes for innovative developments in PVC processing and applications once every three years. 142 projects have already been submitted for the prizes to be awarded on 17 June 2009. What had been intended originally as motivation for Solvin’s staff, has meanwhile developed its very own impetus as a sign of innovation in the PVC industry: With the award InnoVinyls Solvin is once again awarding innovative developments in PVC technologies of the whole PVC-branche right across Europe. Nominations have been made for 142 projects in the following categories: • New Business – development of new products, applications, services, enterprises and industries served. • Customer Oriented Projects – innovative solutions developed from conception to delivery in close co-operation with external or internal customers as partners in areas of research and development, production, logistics, sales, customer relationships and e-commerce. • Performance Improvement – improved performance of products, services, solutions and procedures. • Management Improvement – contribution to improvement in management of human resources and organisation. • Sustainable Development and Citizenship – continuous further development in terms of sustainability and preservation of resources, whether economic, social and/or environmental, including, e.g. development of renewable energies, recycling and development of greater access to natural resources. • Replicated Innovations – successful multiplication of solutions proved in pilot projects or already running as current applications to new products and/or on new equipment. A number of special awards will also be made. Customers, partners, Solvin itself and the whole branche profit to the same extent from the competition for the best solutions in all business areas. This is reflected also in the choice of the jury members. They consist on one side of Solvin employees with management responsibilities from different countries. On the other of external members such as Prof. Dr Luisa Maspoch, holder of the Material Science and Polymer Engineering chair at the University of Barcelona, Emmanuel André, Meinolf Droege, Editor-in-Chief of the German Kunststoff Magazin, Romain Ferrari, Managing Director of the French PVC processor Ferrari Textiles, Dr Philipe Samyn, Design Partner of the Belgian company Samyn and Partners, Jean-Louis Lorand, Chemical Engineer in the management of Benvic Europe and the Russian company Soligran. They have meanwhile concluded their comprehensive evaluations of the projects, having each contributed their own points of view. And when innovative and efficient projects move into the limelight on 17 June 2009 in Brussels, there will be once again the announcement “and the winner is…“. |
