einklang energy: Battery Storage and Load Management for Plastics Processors

einklang NE Solutions GmbH, which operates under the "einklang energy" brand, will present an energy management concept for energy-intensive plastics processors at Fakuma 2026. The concept focuses on battery storage systems, the "einklang OS" control platform and electricity procurement aligned with variable power prices.

Peak Loads and Time-Varying Electricity Prices
The concept is based on the timing of electricity consumption. In plastics processing, starting up injection moulding machines as well as temperature-control systems and auxiliary equipment can result in particularly high demand peaks. Such peaks can affect demand-based grid charges. At the same time, electricity prices on the spot market fluctuate throughout the day, meaning that not only the amount of energy consumed but also the timing of electricity purchases can have an impact on costs.

To address this, "einklang energy" analyses the load profiles of a production site at 15-minute intervals. Based on this data, the aim is to identify peak loads as well as time windows offering potentially lower procurement costs.

Battery Storage and Control Platform
The system presented consists of four components: load profile analysis, battery storage, the "einklang OS" control platform and electricity supply. The battery storage system is designed to absorb electrical energy during periods of lower prices and discharge it when prices are higher or when peak loads are imminent.

According to the company, the control platform continuously coordinates storage operation based on production load, electricity prices and grid conditions. The objective is to partially decouple the timing of electricity consumption from production demand without changing production processes. Electricity procurement is combined with storage operation and control within the overall system.

Focus on Energy-Intensive SMEs
einklang NE Solutions GmbH targets energy-intensive small and medium-sized industrial companies in Germany. At Fakuma 2026, the company is focusing in particular on plastics processors for which fluctuating power demand, peak loads and high electricity consumption are significant cost factors.
