A spanish public research organisation has developed a procedure for the internal plasticization of chlorinated polymers, particularly PVC, with dialkyl phtalates (DOP) chemically modified in a way that the covalent linkage to the polymeric chains is allowed and avoid the migration of the plasticizers, improving the thermal-mechanical properties of the material that can be implemented in soft PVC, particularly in biomedical applications and toys for children A patent license agreement is sought (TECHNOLOGY OFFER, ref.:09 ES 28G2 3FJE) Link to more detailed information.
