Battenfeld China: 230 extrusion lines sold for the production of pipes, profiles, film and sheet

At this year’s Chinaplas in Shanghai, Battenfeld Extrusionstechnik GmbH (www.bex.battenfeld.com, www.bce.battenfeld.com) is presenting itself once more as a supplier of turnkey solutions for the pipe and profile industry. With its techBEX on display, a customized extrusion line for small technical profiles, the German machine manufacturer is showcasing a prime example of its “complete line competence” from start to finish.

Battenfeld Extrusionstechnik has been taking part in this important trade fair from the first Chinaplas onwards - this year it will be for the 22nd time. "From the very beginning, we have recognized the importance of the Chinese market and the Asian market in general. Therefore we established our own facility in Shunde in 1996”, the company’s president and CEO, Wolfgang Studener, comments. Since its foundation, Battenfeld China has already sold 230 extrusion lines for the production of pipes, profiles, film and sheet, primarily to Chinese customers. Just recently, the machine manufacturer installed a high-speed extrusion line for PE-RT pipes that reaches a line speed of 25 m/min.

At its booth, Battenfeld Extrusionstechnik will showcase its standardized, low-cost techBEX extrusion line, which is completely manufactured and assembled in China and sold worldwide. Compared to conventional lines, it is 30 % cheaper yet technologically on a high level. techBEX lines are available either with a BCE 1-45-25 D single-screw extruder for an output of 40 kg/h or with the BCE 1-60-25 D extruder model for about 60 kg/h. The downstream equipment includes a calibration table, a belt haul-off, a flying knife cutter, a saw and a tilting table.

Since its introduction just under two years ago, the techBEX has already been sold 50 times worldwide.

Battenfeld Extrusionstechnik is also presenting its expertise for large-diameter pipe extrusion lines in Shanghai. With a 70 % market share, the machine manufacturer is recognized as the market leader in extrusion lines for pipes from 800 up to 2,000 mm in diameter. For the production of such large pipes, the company supplies turnkey extrusion lines geared to their enormous dimensions from material feeding to handling of the finished pipes. After all, not only the extruder, which is required to ensure high throughput with optimal product homogeneity, but also the extrusion die and the complete downstream equipment must be designed to accommodate large-diameter pipes with wall thicknesses of up to 62 mm. Large-diameter pipe extrusion lines from Bad Oeynhausen offer a high degree of reliability with low downtime and minimal reject rates.
