interpack 2011: The wheels are set in motion - Advisory Council under new leadership

With its first session of the New Year, the interpack Advisory Council has begun concrete preparations for interpack PROCESSES AND PACKAGING 2011 (www.interpack.com). According to tradition, this session is used to elect new council leadership. Christian Traumann, managing director of MULTIVAC Sepp Haggenmüller GmbH & Co. KG, steps up to the top council job as President of interpack PROCESSES AND PACKAGING 2011 with immediate effect. His deputies are Friedbert Klefenz, President of Bosch Packaging Technology and Bernhard Borgardt, a representative of RPC Group, who also holds the post of president at the IK Industrievereinigung Kunststoffverpackungen e.V. (German Association for Plastics Packaging and Films), the Gesamtverband Kunststoffverarbeitende Industrie e.V. (Central Federation of the Plastics Processing Industries - GKV) as well as the European Plastics Converters (EuPC). No votes were received against any of the candidates who were unanimously appointed with no abstentions.

"I look forward to a constructive working relationship with the Advisory Council in the coming years. Past experience has clearly shown that both interpack exhibitors and visitors benefit equally from the results of this cooperation," commented Werner Matthias Dornscheidt, President and CEO of Messe Düsseldorf.

Advert

As the world´s No. 1 event of its kind, interpack has always adapted to the industry´s needs and thus earned itself a reputation as an innovation leader. "For instance, over the past few years, the expansion of the process technology and packaging production segments as well as the introduction of the INNOVATIONPARCS with their focus on various topical themes such as sustainability, point of sale or bioplastics have been key initiatives in this drive to innovate," pointed out interpack Director Bernd Jablonowski. What´s more, the previous event - which was also the 50th anniversary of interpack - saw the trade fair sporting a new corporate design. Staged in April last year, interpack PROCESSES AND PACKAGING 2008 racked up a number of records and created an extremely buoyant mood among the 2,746 exhibitors.

The next staging of interpack in Düsseldorf will run from 12 to 18 May 2011. Between now and then, Messe Düsseldorf will be investing substantially in the Düsseldorf Trade Fair Center. Consequently, exhibitors and visitors can look forward to a fully upgraded Hall 5.

In October this year, invitations will be sent out to interpack 2008 exhibitors as well as other potential participants. The closing date for registrations is 28 February 2010.
