Arburg: Inauguration of new Technology Center in Budapest

On June 24, Michael Hehl, Managing Partner of Arburg, inaugurated the new building in Budapest. He emphasised the high significance of customer proximity both in physical and mental terms, something which is a top priority at Arburg. This was followed by an open-house event the next day in the Arburg Technology Center (ATC). This was attended by around 75 people.

The new building has 450 m2 of usable floorspace. It is the result of a project between Arburg and the Hungarian Industrial Development Company WING. The construction time was around six months and employed mainly Hungarian tradesmen using local materials. The facade and interior furnishing conform to Arburg’s global standards for corporate identity and corporate design.

Gabriella Hollik, manager of the Arburg Hungária Kft. subsidiary, describes one big advantage of the new location: "The move means that training, the spare parts store, service, consulting and sales are now housed under one roof. The centrepiece is the demonstration room for three Allrounder injection moulding machines. It will become the place to go for our customers to test new moulds, receive help with applications, find out about new machines and take part in practice-oriented training courses."

There was an opportunity for an exchange of theory and practice the very next day as part of an open-house event opened by Stephan Doehler, Arburg European Sales Manager. In the new premises, customers and potential customers got an impression of what ARBURG offers them in terms of products, technologies, service and trends in injection moulding. Specialist presentations by internal and external speakers rounded off the programme.

The investment in the new building is proof of the continuous and strategic expansion of the international sales and service network. Arburg has been operating in Hungary for more than 20 years. In the beginning, the machines were supplied to German companies manufacturing in Hungary. In autumn 1998, the first subsidiary in East Central Europe was established in Hungary. Today, the Budapest subsidiary is an important part of Arburg’s international presence.
