The highlight of Rieter´s (www.rieter-automatik.de, www.pelletizing.com) stand at K 2007 will be a compact production line which can produce micro pellets in both spherical and cylindrical shapes. The unconventional production arrangement will be shown in operation twice a day at 11.30 am and 3 pm. All production components are installed on a single common platform. As the melt flow leaves the extruder, it is directed either into a PRIMO strand pelletizing line with cooling trough, air knife and pelletizer, or into a SPHERO® underwater pelletizing unit with start-up valve, cutting chamber and dryer. The melt flow is switched over using a pneumatic 3/2-way valve. As a further highlight Rieter will feature the sophisticated, internet-based I-BORO service tool, the power of which will be demonstrated through a live link to the Rieter technology center in Grossostheim.
