Borealis: Craig Arnold appointed new Executive Vice President Polyolefins, Circular Economy Solutions and Innovation & Technology

The Supervisory Board of Borealis has appointed Craig Arnold (51) as the new Executive Board member for Polyolefins, Circular Economy Solutions and Innovation & Technology with effect from 1 February 2024.

Craig Arnold is currently Chief Commercial Officer at Ferroglobe PLC in Madrid, Spain. Previously, he spent many years at Dow Inc. in various leadership positions, including as Executive Secondment (from Dow Inc.) and Advisor to the CEO at the Alliance to End Plastics Waste (AEPW) in Singapore, as President Dow Sub-Sahara Africa in Johannesburg, South Africa, as Global Commercial Vice President Dow Industrial Solutions for EMEAI in Zurich, Switzerland, and as President Dow Australia & New Zealand in Melbourne, Australia, as well as other leadership positions in Houston and Michigan, USA. He has also been a member of numerous industry associations and academic and governmental bodies.

Thomas Gangl, CEO of Borealis, will assume interim responsibility for Polyolefins, Circular Economy Solutions and Innovation & Technology from 1 January 2024 until Craig Arnold takes up his role as a member of the Borealis Management Board.

Craig Arnold studied Chemical Engineering at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. He holds dual Swiss-South African citizenship, is married and has two children.
