Wittmann: Establishment of a branch in Vietnam

The Wittmann Group, headquartered in Austria, is strengthening its market presence in Southeast Asia by establishing its own sales and service branch in Vietnam.

"Vietnam is becoming increasingly important as a production location for the injection moulding industry," emphasises Michael Wittmann, owner and Managing Director of the Wittmann Group. "We are responding to this trend with the establishment of Wittmann Vietnam Co, Ltd in Ho Chi Minh City. This will enable us to provide our local customers with even more intensive support and flexibly accompany the construction of new production plants. With this step, we will further expand our customer base in Southeast Asia."

The plastics industry in Vietnam has already developed dynamically in recent years. Wittmann can draw on a large existing local customer base. The company has had a representative office in Vietnam since 2015 and is continuing its collaboration with Tao Bangkok (Vietnam) Co. LTD. In this way, Wittmann aims to guarantee its customers in the region a high degree of continuity and security.

The Managing Director of the new subsidiary is Giang An Le. He will now gradually expand the sales and service network in Vietnam. The electrical engineering graduate has 20 years of experience in international production and mechanical engineering companies specialising in the plastics industry. As a German citizen with Vietnamese roots, Giang An Le is at home in both Asian and European culture.

Innovative technologies and application engineering consulting
Ho Chi Minh City is located in the south of Vietnam and therefore in an important centre of the plastics industry. The new branch is located in the Tan Binh District in the immediate vicinity of the international airport. This means that Wittmann in Vietnam is also easily accessible for international customers.

Numerous globally active companies are setting up new production sites in Vietnam, including many companies that already use injection moulding machines, robots and peripheral equipment from the Wittmann Group in other countries.

"With our extensive overall solution expertise and our ability to supply complete production cells from a single source, we can provide excellent support to these companies as well as local plastics processors," says Wittmann. "Efficiency and quality requirements are continuously increasing in South East Asia. Innovative processing technologies, automation solutions and application technology advice are in corresponding demand."

Strong presence throughout Southeast Asia
With a total of nine subsidiaries and other agencies, the Wittmann Group has a strong presence throughout Southeast Asia. In China, Wittmann operates its own production facility for robots and peripherals.

At the same time as Wittmann Vietnam was founded, the Group strengthened its presence in the Philippines. AustroPlast, based in Noveleta near Manila, was acquired as a new sales partner for the entire Wittmann product portfolio. AustroPlast has more than 20 years of experience in the plastics processing industry in the Philippines.
