German exports to China during the period January through November 2007 amounted to 310 Mio. Euro, which is an increase of 16.7 % compared to the same period of the previous year. This means China continues to rank 2nd in the list of top destinations for German plastics and rubber machines, so the German VDMA - Fachverband Kunststoff- und Gummimaschinen (www.kug.vdma.org). The worldwide exports to China in 2006 reached a total of 1,655 Mio. Euro – 6,4 % above the previous year. As in the preceding year, Germany remains No. 2 of the most important suppliers to plastics and rubber processors in China with a share of 17.5 % of total exports, followed by Taiwan (14.6 %) and Korea (8.4 %). Among the TOP-10 machinery suppliers Germany is followed by Taiwan and Korea, Italy, USA, France, Canada, the Netherlands as well as Slovakia. Japan stays No. 1 supplier with an export volume marginally exceeding the preceding year´s level and a slightly reduced share. It still covers about one third (32.7 %) of total worldwide supplies to China. Above average was the contribution of Taiwan and Korea to world exports to China.
