Gneuss: Establishment of an independent company for sensor and measurement technology

Gneuß Kunststofftechnik GmbH is spinning off its Sensor and Measurement Technology business unit. As of May 1, 2026, the unit’s entire operating business will be transferred to the newly established Gneuss MC GmbH & Co. KG. With this move, the company is responding to the growth of the business unit in recent years as well as increasing demands on organization, development and production.

In future, the new company will bundle all activities in the Measurement & Controls segment. All employees of the previous business unit will be transferred to Gneuss MC. The aim of the spin-off is to give the business unit a more independent structure and to drive forward the further development of its sensor and measurement technology activities in a more targeted manner.

Gneuss MC develops and produces sensor solutions for pressure and temperature measurement in extrusion processes. The systems are designed for industrial applications in which measurements are required even under demanding process conditions. These include abrasion, corrosion and high temperatures, among others.

In addition to standard sensors, the company offers customer-specific solutions. These are based on its in-house production capabilities, which enable both standardized and individually adapted sensors to be manufactured. The portfolio also includes digital technologies, including fully digitally communicating sensors and RFID-based systems for monitoring measuring equipment.

Dr. Stephan Gneuß explains the spin-off with reference to the structural requirements for the further development of the business unit. The new company is intended to create the conditions needed to systematically advance technologies in the field of sensor and measurement technology and to strengthen its market position over the long term.
