Machinery manufacturer Haitian has established its production site in Ruma, Serbia, as an important part of its international manufacturing network. Construction of the facility was completed in August 2025, and the site supports the company’s “Think Global, Act Local” strategy while serving as a regional production and service hub for Europe and the Middle East & Africa (MEA) region. With an initial investment of more than €120 million, the site covers a total area of 250,000 square meters. Approximately 60,000 square meters are dedicated to production operations, while around 4,500 square meters are allocated to administration, customer support, and training facilities. More than 100 employees currently work at the site, collaborating with experienced specialists from China on local manufacturing and technical support. For 2026, Haitian Serbia plans to produce between 500 and 600 injection molding machines. Initial production will focus on servo-hydraulic “Mars” series machines featuring toggle technology, as well as “Jupiter” series machines equipped with two-platen technology. These machines will be manufactured for a wide range of applications and industries across Europe and the MEA region. Starting in 2027, the electric “Zhafir Zeres” series will be added to local production. This will expand the Serbian-made product portfolio to include all-electric injection molding machines and shorten delivery routes for customers in the target markets. In addition to machine manufacturing, the site serves as a European spare parts center. Extensive warehousing capacities for key machine series are intended to ensure high spare parts availability and rapid service response times. The facility holds certifications according to ISO 9001:2015 for quality management, ISO 14001:2015 for environmental management, and ISO 45001:2018 for occupational health and safety. Furthermore, Haitian Serbia supports the expansion of additional business areas in Europe. A key focus is on automation solutions from Haitian Smart Solutions, including robotic systems, peripheral equipment, integrated manufacturing cells, and turnkey systems for industrial production processes. The next stage of development involves establishing local engineering, development, and research activities. In the future, specialized teams for mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems will drive the development and adaptation of machine solutions tailored to European market requirements. From September 22 to 24, 2026, Haitian Serbia will host its first Open House event at the Ruma site. The event will provide insights into manufacturing operations, automation solutions, and the role of the facility within Haitian’s global production network.
