Sensoplast: Packaging Manufacturer Acquires Forewood Assets, Expands Portfolio with Natural Fiber Closure Solutions

Sensoplast Packmitteltechnik GmbH, based in Oberhonnefeld near Neuwied, Germany, has acquired the assets of Forewood. By integrating the company's technology, the manufacturer and system supplier of closures, dispensing systems, and primary pharmaceutical packaging is expanding its product portfolio to include sustainable closure and packaging solutions based on renewable raw materials.

Forewood specialized in closure and packaging solutions that eliminate the need for conventional standard polymers. According to the company, the acquired products are made from wood and plant fibers and have already been used successfully under real market conditions for several years, including in branded consumer goods.

With this portfolio expansion, Sensoplast is responding to growing regulatory and market demand for sustainable packaging solutions. The new offering is aimed primarily at customers in the dietary supplements, food, cosmetics, and lifestyle sectors seeking alternative packaging components for existing or new product concepts.

From a technical perspective, the natural fiber-based closures are designed to provide strength, toughness, and barrier properties. This enables Sensoplast to address key requirements for primary and secondary packaging components, where sustainable material alternatives have often involved functional compromises.
