Dongguan Baier Plastic Expands High-Performance Plastics Capacity with Three Coperion Twin-Screw Extruders
 The Chinese specialist in high-performance engineering plastics, Dongguan Baier Plastic, has purchased three ZSK Mc18 high-temperature twin-screw extruders from Coperion - (Photo: Coperion). The company processes a broad range of engineering and high-performance polymers, including PA6/PA66, PEEK, PEI, PAI, PPS, PPO, PPA, PA9T, PA10T, LCP and PA46. Typical applications for these materials are found in the automotive, electrical and electronics, and mechanical engineering industries. To handle the high processing temperatures, the extruders’ process sections have been specially configured in both mechanical and electrical terms. According to Coperion, cartridge heaters and thermal insulation help ensure stable temperature control, while the screws and barrels feature dedicated wear- and corrosion-resistant protection. Advert The screw configurations are tailored to highly viscous melts. Combined with the machines’ high specific torque, this is intended to enable high fill levels, short residence times and high throughput rates. ZS-EG side devolatilization units are used to support stable melt degassing.
To reduce downtime during product changeovers, the side feeders and side devolatilization units have been designed for easy removal. The side feeders are also equipped with Coperion’s Feed Enhancement Technology (FET), which is designed to improve material intake and increase throughput.
