With the S-Max primus screenless granulator, Wittmann offers a beside-the-press solution for inline recycling directly next to the injection molding machine. The granulator is designed for processing engineering plastics and can handle materials including styrenics and acrylics as well as glass-fiber-reinforced plastics. At a mains frequency of 50 Hz, the cutting unit operates at a speed of 27 rpm. The low operating speed reduces noise emissions, energy consumption and dust generation. At the same time, it produces regrind with a largely homogeneous particle size. This facilitates reprocessing of the material and helps maintain consistent quality in the injection-molded parts produced from it. The design also focuses on a long service life for the cutting tools. The S-Max primus requires little maintenance and is comparatively easy to clean for material changes. This allows sprues, reject parts and other suitable production scrap to be granulated directly in the vicinity of the injection molding machine and fed back into the processing operation. According to the supplier, the combination of low speed, low energy consumption, reduced dust generation and easy cleaning supports a resource-efficient production process. Inline recycling shortens internal material transport routes and enables reusable plastic scrap to be returned to the production cycle promptly. Dedicated Presentation Area for Primus Systems At Fakuma 2026, Wittmann will showcase several products from its Primus range in a dedicated presentation area. The focus will be on applications along the material flow – from drying and conveying the raw material through temperature control and automation to inline recycling. Products on display will include the Drymax primus granulate dryer, the Tempro primus temperature controller and the S-Max primus screenless granulator. The presentation will be complemented by a Card primus small-volume dryer, a Feedmax primus central material loader, a Primus robot and the all-electric EcoPrimus injection molding machine. The components can be used individually or combined to form an integrated production cell.
