![]() ![]() The new Elion 3200 CAP is producing 26 mm beverage caps at Fakuma with a cycle time of 1.8 seconds - (Photo: Netstal). At the trade fair, the system will produce 26 mm HDPE closures using a 72-cavity mould from Z-MOULDS with an MHT hot-runner system. With a shot weight of 72 g, the cycle time is 1.8 seconds. Additional components are supplied by Piovan, IMDvista and ef cooling, among others. The redesigned clamping unit is engineered for short dry-cycle times, high rigidity and simplified maintenance. The injection unit 2000 features a screw stroke of 260 mm and, depending on the screw diameter, achieves injection pressures of up to 2,400 bar. Synchronously controlled injection spindles are designed to reduce mechanical loads and support consistent process control. Energy efficiency has also been further improved. Electric drives, optimised load distribution and an adapted power supply concept are intended to reduce energy consumption. The Axos 9 control system supports OPC UA interfaces and the integration of external components via HTML5. Netstal is gradually converting the Elion series to the new platform. In future, both hybrid and all-electric configurations are to be available for clamping forces of up to 4,200 kN, depending on the application.
