![]() ![]() One of Weiss’s core competencies is the engineering of complex robot-assisted assembly and testing stations for the plastic components it manufactures - (Image: Weiss Kunststoffverarbeitung) For internal combustion engine applications, Weiss will present, among other products, chain tensioners for operation in engine oil, manufactured using a two-component injection molding process. Other components located near or integrated into the engine are designed for high wear and temperature resistance. At the same time, the company has expanded its product portfolio for electromobility. Exhibits at Fakuma will include high-voltage connectors, components for battery systems, and sensor housings. For these applications, Weiss draws on its experience in inserting and overmolding metal components, including current-carrying parts. This is complemented by the company’s in-house expertise in developing complex robot-assisted assembly and testing stations for the production of ready-to-install modules. The commercial vehicle industry is also becoming increasingly important for Weiss. The company manufactures components and assemblies for the drivetrains and interiors of trucks and mobile machinery. According to the company, several major projects for this sector are currently ramping up at its production sites in Illertissen and Gyõr, Hungary. In addition, Weiss is expanding its activities beyond the automotive sector. The company already manufactures technically sophisticated plastic components for electrical engineering and mechanical engineering applications. Initial products are also being manufactured for the medical technology sector, including plastic boxes with integrated hinges for use in operating room environments. Further projects involve special-purpose vehicles and intralogistics, including components for automated guided vehicles. With its exhibits at Fakuma, Weiss will highlight its engineering and manufacturing expertise in technically sophisticated and, in some cases, safety-critical plastic components and assemblies. Its range of services extends from product development support and injection molding and overmolding processes to automated assembly and testing.
