Wittmann: Higher Throughput for Dedusting Recycled Materials

With the new Feedmax Clean 300, Wittmann has extended the scope of application for its vacuum material loaders with an integrated dedusting function for handling higher throughput volumes - (Photo: Wittmann).
Wittmann is expanding its Feedmax Clean vacuum conveying unit with the new size 300. The system, which features integrated dedusting, achieves material throughputs of up to 80 kg/h, doubling the capacity previously available. The new version will be presented at Fakuma 2026.

The Feedmax Clean removes dust and fines during the conveying process. In injection molding, such contaminants can adversely affect dosing behavior and the homogeneity of the polymer melt, thereby reducing part quality.

The new size 300 is available in two versions with different conveying volumes. It is aimed primarily at applications requiring higher material throughputs and handling increasing proportions of recycled material.

According to Wittmann, up to 80 percent of particles with a diameter of less than 1,000 µm are separated during a typical conveying cycle. Dust and fines are continuously extracted from the material stream.

Dedusting is particularly important for recycled materials, as they can contain elevated levels of fines depending on their origin and processing. Appropriate material preparation broadens the range of applications for regrind, including components with more demanding surface and functional requirements.

With the exception of an optional glass section, all parts of the Feedmax Clean that come into contact with the material are made of stainless steel. This facilitates cleaning and shortens material changeover times.

For the inline recycling of sprues and reject parts, Wittmann also offers coordinated system concepts combining granulation, drying, dosing and material conveying. The individual components are configured according to the material, application and production conditions. At selected subsidiaries, technical consulting services also include granulation and injection molding trials as well as feasibility analyses.
