Röchling Industrial: Acquisition of Polypres strengthens European compression-moulded sheet business

Effective September 3, 2026, Röchling Industrial acquired Spanish plastics processor Polypres Mediterráneo S.L., based in Alfarrasí near Valencia. The acquisition expands the company’s production capacity and presence in the European market for compression-moulded thermoplastic sheets. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

Polypres was founded in 2000 and employs more than 60 people. The company manufactures compression-moulded plastic sheets made from polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP). Its customers include companies in the chemical, food and paper industries, as well as the mechanical engineering sector.

Röchling Industrial plans to integrate the Spanish site into its European production and service network. By combining the capacities of Röchling Industrial, Polypres and the Terbrack operations acquired in March 2026, the company aims to establish a broader technological and geographical footprint in the field of compression-moulded thermoplastic sheets. According to the company, this will increase available capacity and create additional redundancy within its production network.

Polypres will continue operating with its existing products, employees and customer relationships. According to Röchling, no changes to the business model, points of contact or cooperation with customers and suppliers are planned in the short term. The acquisition concludes an approximately two-year strategic project undertaken by Röchling Industrial to further develop its European compression-moulded sheet business.

On March 1, 2026, Röchling Industrial had already acquired the operating business of Terbrack Kunststoff GmbH & Co. KG in Vreden as part of an asset deal following the company’s restructuring.

According to company figures, the Röchling Group employs 11,401 people at 84 locations in 25 countries. Its three divisions—Automotive, Industrial and Medical - generated combined sales of EUR 2.5 billion in 2025.
