Moretto: New Systems for Material Conveying, Drying and Process Monitoring

At Fakuma 2026, Moretto S.p.A. will showcase a range of new and enhanced systems for material conveying, drying, distribution and plant monitoring. The Italian supplier of automation solutions for plastics processing is presenting technologies that cover the entire material-handling chain, from granulate storage and conveying to drying and higher-level production monitoring.

A key highlight is the “Loadmatik” conveying system. Once the material source and destination have been defined, the system automatically calculates the required conveying parameters and adjusts them to the conveying distance and material volume.

The system combines three interconnected components. The “One Wire 6 Plus” server monitors and controls conveying parameters, while the “X-Loader” material receiver uses integrated “Sentry+” technology to record loading data and adjust system settings in real time. The setup is completed by “KruiseKontrol”, a dynamic control system that adapts granulate velocity, operating pressure and conveying speed to changing process conditions. Self-learning algorithms analyse parameters such as material velocity, operating pressure, pipe emptying time and receiver fill level.

Moretto is also introducing the new “Deduster” for removing dust and residues from granulate before the moulding process. The system combines vortex action, mechanical separation and centrifugal force to separate particles from the material. According to the company, all components in contact with the material are made of stainless steel. An optional ioniser is available for applications with particularly stringent cleanliness requirements, including medical and optical manufacturing.

Another new product is “Delphy”, a manual material distributor with RFID-based connection monitoring. The system continuously verifies that the correct material source is connected to the intended destination, while coloured LED signals assist operators during setup. Stainless-steel connections are designed to minimise potential sources of contamination. According to Moretto, the system is intended to improve traceability and ensure reliable validation of material allocation.

The company has also expanded its “X Comb” dryer range with the “X Comb 17” to “X Comb 20” models. The electrically powered units are designed for engineering plastics and throughput rates of up to 60 kg/h. Moretto specifies a footprint of just 0.6 m². The range combines drying and conveying in a compact system that can be integrated into existing material supply installations.

Material traceability is another focus of the company’s Fakuma presentation. Moretto offers storage and handling solutions designed to identify and track material batches from incoming goods through to the processing machine. The systems are intended to help maintain material properties, reduce contamination risks and provide continuous process documentation.

For plant-wide monitoring and control, Moretto offers its modular “Mowis” supervisory system. The platform connects individual Moretto systems, monitors equipment status and material consumption, and enables users to manage production batches and modify process parameters in real time. It also stores historical process data, supports production scheduling and generates performance reports.

Integration with existing Manufacturing Execution Systems is provided via bidirectional communication using the OPC UA standard. Thanks to its modular architecture, “Mowis” can be expanded gradually to cover additional functions and plant areas.
