Alpla adds two production sites in Türkiye

Alpla has expanded its manufacturing footprint in Türkiye with the opening of two new production facilities in İzmir and Adana. The packaging producer has invested around EUR 30 million in the two sites, taking its network in the country to five plants.

The company already operates facilities in Kocaeli, Ankara and Konya.

The new İzmir plant covers around 50,000 m² and produces PET preforms, closures, and bottles made from HDPE and PET. The Adana site, with an area of approximately 20,000 m², manufactures PET preforms and packaging solutions based on HDPE and PP.

The plants will supply customers in the beverage, food and dairy industries as well as the home and personal care sectors.

According to Alpla, the new capacity is intended to bring production closer to customers, reduce transport distances and strengthen regional supply. The İzmir facility will primarily serve western Türkiye and the Aegean region, while the Adana plant will supply customers in the Mediterranean region and southeastern Türkiye.

Türkiye is one of Alpla’s main production markets within its Africa, Middle East & Türkiye region. The company says the country accounts for around one third of the region’s production capacity and business activities.

Alpla has been active in Türkiye since 1992 and said it intends to further expand its operations in the country over the coming years.

Both new sites use automated production technology. The facilities are also equipped with photovoltaic installations and rainwater harvesting systems designed to reduce resource consumption.

The Adana plant opened on 14 September 2026, followed by the İzmir site on 15 September.

Alpla produces bottles, closures, preforms, injection-moulded parts and other packaging systems. The group also operates recycling plants for PET and HDPE. It currently employs around 25,440 people across 206 production sites in 45 countries.
