Feddersen Group Highlights Compounds, AI Tools and Supply Chain Strategies

The Feddersen Group will present a broad range of materials, engineering services and supply chain concepts at Fakuma 2026, with several group companies exhibiting together in Friedrichshafen.

The portfolio on display will include new compounds, recycled-content materials, PEEK-based high-performance polymers, AI-assisted development tools, digital customer services and logistics concepts aimed at improving supply chain resilience.

The group’s main joint booth will be located in Hall B2, Booth 2213. Feddem GmbH & Co. KG will also exhibit in Hall A6, Booth 6217.

Akro-Plastic Focuses on Thermal Protection and Recycled Materials
Akro-Plastic GmbH will present "Akroloy Para GF 35 1 FR orange (8039)", a flame-retardant compound developed for applications in battery systems.

According to the company, a two-millimeter-thick test specimen exposed to temperatures above 1,000 °C for ten minutes keeps the temperature on its reverse side below 100 °C. The material is intended for components designed to limit thermal propagation in battery systems, while its combination of thin-wall capability, mechanical strength and thermal insulation can also help reduce weight and installation space.

Akro-Plastic is also expanding its "Akromid Eco" range with compounds based on post-consumer recycled polyamide 6. The recycled content exceeds 30%.

One example is "Akromid B3 GF 30 Eco black (9172)". The company says the material has a 38% lower partial Product Carbon Footprint than the conventional grade "Akromid B3 GF 30 1 black (2485)". The recycled-content claim is referenced to DIN EN ISO 14021:2021, while the carbon-footprint calculation is based on DIN EN ISO 14067:2018.

Another exhibit is a kayak more than five meters long, produced by Zeisberg Carbon using large-format 3D printing with "Akrolen PP ICF 30 AM black (8344)".

The carbon-fiber-reinforced polypropylene has been developed for additive manufacturing. According to Akro-Plastic, the reinforcement supports high stiffness and low warpage, while the polypropylene matrix provides low density and low water absorption.

The application illustrates the use of large-format additive manufacturing for one-off components and small series without conventional tooling.

K.D. Feddersen Adds Styrenix and Zypeek Materials
K.D. Feddersen GmbH & Co. KG is expanding its distribution portfolio with materials from Styrenix Performance Materials.

The range includes "Asalac" ASA grades and "Styroloy" polymer blends, including PC+ABS, ASA+PMMA and PA-ABS combinations.

The distributor is also adding further emphasis to PEEK-based materials from Jilin Joinature Polymer Co., Ltd. under the "Zypeek" brand. These materials are intended for applications requiring high temperature resistance, mechanical performance and chemical resistance.

K.D. Feddersen will also introduce a new digital customer portal that will provide centralized access to product information and service functions.

K.D. Feddersen Ueberseegesellschaft Emphasizes Multi-Sourcing
K.D. Feddersen Ueberseegesellschaft mbH will use Fakuma 2026 to highlight supply chain resilience.

The company is focusing on multi-sourcing strategies as well as customized warehousing and logistics concepts designed to reduce dependence on individual sources within international supply networks.

Its materials portfolio includes established base polymers such as PBT, PA6, PC and PLA, alongside long-chain specialty polyamides and various copolyesters. The materials are aimed at compounding as well as film, sheet and filament applications.

M.Tec Engineering Presents AI-Based Optimization Tool
M.Tec Engineering GmbH will present "M.Opt", an in-house AI-assisted tool for product development.

The software is designed to optimize component geometries and development parameters systematically and to reduce technical risks at an early stage of the development process.

M.Tec will also present approaches to design for recycling and methods for integrating plastics-specific requirements into structured product development processes.

AF-Color Expands Capacity and Circular Product Range
AF-Color, a branch of Akro-Plastic GmbH, will showcase color, black and additive masterbatches for engineering plastics including PA, PBT, PK and TPU.

Functional additive masterbatches will form one area of focus.

The company is also expanding production capacity and will present its "AF-CirColor", "AF-CirCarbon" and "AF-CirComplex" product lines for applications linked to circular-economy concepts.

PolyComp Adds Laboratory Extrusion Capacity
PolyComp GmbH is expanding its development and toll-compounding capabilities with a "FED 26 MTS" laboratory extruder.

The system is intended for sample production, trial batches, small production volumes and customer-specific formulations.

According to the company, formulations developed at laboratory scale can be tested under conditions closer to subsequent production and then transferred to larger-scale equipment.

The system is particularly aimed at development departments, start-ups and customers requiring small batches or customized formulations containing additives or fillers.

Across its Fakuma presentation, the Feddersen Group is addressing several themes currently shaping plastics processing, including recycled materials, carbon-footprint reduction, high-performance polymers, additive manufacturing, AI-assisted development and more resilient raw-material sourcing.

The exhibits span several stages of the plastics value chain, from materials development and distribution to engineering, digital services and logistics.
