FACC: Plant Expansion in Croatia – Expansion of Composite and Cabin Production

FACC AG has opened the expansion of its production site in Jakovlje, Croatia. According to the company, total investment at the site to date amounts to EUR 36 million. The expansion has tripled the production area. More than 500 employees now work in Jakovlje, making the plant the company’s largest production site outside Austria.

The capacity expansion is driven by the expected increase in production rates in the international aviation industry. FACC points to 18,700 aircraft on firm order as well as forecasts indicating that the global aircraft fleet could grow from 23,210 units to 45,550 aircraft by 2045. The site expansion is intended to create additional capacity for existing programs and new customer projects.

Expansion of Composite and Cabin Production
The Jakovlje plant manufactures components for aircraft cabins and is being further expanded technologically. A fully automated paint line has already been installed. In addition, press-based production of composite components is now being launched at the site. The required production processes and manufacturing capacities are being established jointly by the teams in Croatia and Austria.

Within FACC’s international production network, Jakovlje is set to assume a larger role in the manufacture of cabin components. FACC is positioning the site as a competence center for high-quality cabin interiors and is gradually consolidating additional manufacturing steps there.

Investment Program Through 2030
In parallel with the expansion in Croatia, FACC plans to invest around EUR 350 million by 2030 in new technologies and the expansion of its global production sites. According to the company, the program is intended to support higher production rates in existing programs, industrialize new customer projects, and improve production efficiency.

The investment program also includes the expansion of the St. Martin im Innkreis site in Upper Austria. Capacity for structural components is to be doubled there. In March 2026, the company announced an investment volume of around EUR 120 million for this expansion.
