At Fakuma 2026, Bole Europe will present two injection molding machines based on different drive concepts. The all-electric "FE 110" and the servo-hydraulic two-platen "DK 200" will both be demonstrated live at the company’s booth. The main focus will be on energy efficiency, repeatability, cycle time, and manufacturing cost per good part.All-electric "FE 110" for precise process control The "FE 110" is part of Bole’s all-electric machine range. Separate electric drives control the individual machine movements, supplying power only when required for the respective process step. This approach is designed to reduce energy consumption while maintaining a high level of control accuracy and repeatability. The electric drive system allows precise control of both the injection and clamping units. This is particularly important for technically demanding molded parts, where stable process parameters are essential for consistent and reproducible part quality. The machine’s highly dynamic movements are also designed to support short cycle times. As there is no need for continuously operating hydraulic systems, the machine runs comparatively quietly and avoids the constant pump operation typical of conventional hydraulic concepts. "DK 200" combines two-platen technology with servo hydraulics The "DK 200" uses a two-platen clamping unit. According to Bole, the design provides high clamping forces while keeping the overall machine length comparatively short. This can be particularly advantageous when processing larger molds or where production floor space is limited. The compact clamping concept can therefore be relevant both for new production lines and for retrofitting existing manufacturing facilities. The machine is powered by a servo-hydraulic drive system that adjusts hydraulic output to the requirements of each process step. Compared with conventional hydraulic systems with continuously running pumps, this helps reduce energy losses. The combination of a compact two-platen clamping unit and demand-controlled servo hydraulics is intended to provide stable process performance while minimizing the machine footprint. Energy consumption per good part as a key benchmark For both machines, Bole Europe is focusing not simply on instantaneous power consumption, but on the amount of energy required to produce each good part. In addition to the machine’s energy demand, this calculation is influenced by factors such as cycle time, scrap rate, repeatability, and consistent part quality. The "FE 110" addresses these requirements with directly driven electric axes, precise process control, and high dynamic performance. The "DK 200", by contrast, combines a space-saving two-platen design with demand-controlled servo hydraulics. At Fakuma, Bole Europe will therefore showcase two different technical approaches aimed at reducing both energy consumption and manufacturing cost per good part.
