Ferromatik Milacron will unveil the third generation of its all-electric "E-Series" in Europe for the first time at Fakuma 2026. The company will showcase the "E180" and "E110" in live applications for the packaging and medical sectors. The new machine generation is designed to deliver higher productivity, lower energy consumption, greater mold flexibility and reduced operating costs.Enhanced Electric Drive and Clamping Technology The third-generation "E-Series" features regenerative servo drives. During deceleration of the electric axes, energy is fed back into the power grid. At the same time, the drive technology enables high acceleration rates, high peak currents and precise motion control. The clamping unit features increased tie-bar spacing, allowing the use of larger molds or molds with high cavity counts while also simplifying the integration of peripheral equipment. Automatic clamping force control is intended to improve process stability. Lubricating grease consumption has also been reduced. The injection unit is based on a modular concept that supports multiple screw configurations within a single machine platform. Higher injection speeds broaden the range of possible applications. Centrally applied nozzle contact force is designed to ensure consistent and reproducible mold contact, even at high pressures and injection speeds. "Mosaic Xi" Monitors Process and Energy Data The machines are equipped with the "Mosaic Xi" control system. Features include a part setup assistant, clamping force optimization, adaptive central lubrication, "Smart Charging" material dosing and the "PSSV" system for stabilizing part weight. A 21.5-inch multi-touch display allows operators to monitor more than 30 process parameters over the most recent 5,000 cycles. Production and energy data can also be evaluated over longer periods. In addition, the energy consumption of individual machine axes can be analyzed on a per-cycle basis directly at the operator panel. "E180" in Packaging Application At Fakuma 2026, the "E180," with a clamping force of 180 tons, will produce a rounded-oval polypropylene container. The application uses a two-cavity hot-runner mold, with a part weight of 23 g. The machine is equipped with the "IU 25_50" injection unit, a 45 mm screw and a maximum injection speed of 350 mm/s. Tie-bar spacing is 570 x 570 mm. "E110" Produces 64-Cavity Pipette Tips The "E110" will produce 200 µl polypropylene pipette tips using a 64-cavity hot-runner mold. The machine provides 110 tons of clamping force and is equipped with the "IU 18_40" injection unit, a 35 mm screw and a maximum injection speed of 350 mm/s. The application is aimed at production environments requiring high precision, repeatability and process stability for small molded parts and high cavity counts. With the new "E-Series," Ferromatik Milacron is expanding its portfolio of all-electric injection molding machines for applications with demanding requirements in terms of dynamics, energy efficiency and process control. The technical focus is on regenerative drive technology, flexible mold accommodation and enhanced process and energy data acquisition.
