X-Rite Pantone: Connected Color Measurement with "Spectura"

X-Rite Pantone is presenting its new "Spectura" series of portable sphere spectrophotometers at Fakuma 2026. The company will demonstrate how color measurements from laboratories and production can be integrated into digital quality assurance processes. A live demonstration is scheduled for Tuesday, October 13, at 10 a.m.

The platform combines portable measuring instruments, cloud services and modular applications. It is designed to make color data available across production sites and suppliers and reduce the manual transfer of measurement results. The focus is on aligning color specifications and production measurements to detect deviations earlier and initiate corrective action.

According to the manufacturer, features include optical measurement systems, a high-resolution camera for capturing the measurement location and temperature-sensitive measurement functions. These are complemented by application-specific accessories and integration of the "NetProfiler" software. A high level of agreement with existing X-Rite handheld and benchtop instruments is intended to support the comparability of measurement data. The announcement provides no specific figures for measurement repeatability or inter-instrument agreement.

Cloud connectivity is provided through the "Color iQC" quality assurance software. Color and instrument performance data are transferred into digital quality processes. This is intended to enable quality managers to check production results in real time and access a shared dataset for coordination across sites and suppliers.

Three models with different focuses will be presented at the trade fair: "Spectura S60" for mobile color comparisons, "Spectura S62" for routine quality assurance and "Spectura S64" for applications with tighter tolerances. The latter is designed for agreement with benchtop spectrophotometers in the "Ci7800" series. According to the company, the series has been available since October 1, 2026.
