Männer is expanding its “Performance Line” hot runner platform with a valve gate nozzle for direct side gating. The new product will be presented at Fakuma 2026 at the “Spectrix” group’s stand in Hall A1, Stand 1208. The platform is designed for injection moulds with medium to high cavity counts.

The product family, introduced at K 2025, complements the “Signature Line”. A range of nozzle designs, lengths, tips and manifold sizes allows systems to be configured for specific applications. The portfolio includes open and valve-gated systems, multi-nozzles, multi-tip nozzles and side-gating solutions. Applications include medical technology, technical components, fast-moving consumer goods, caps and closures, and packaging.

Valve pin adjustment and selective cavity shut-off
According to the manufacturer, the valve pin position in the valve-gated version can be adjusted in increments of 0.05 millimetres using a fine-adjustment ring on the pneumatic actuator. This allows the closing position to be adapted to the specific gating conditions. The valve pin can be installed and removed without disassembling the mould.
The optional “Cavity Off” function is integrated into the cleanroom-compatible pneumatic actuator. It allows individual mould cavities to be deactivated without disassembling the mould, while the remaining cavities continue production. In the event of a fault in one cavity, this is intended to avoid having to shut down the entire mould.

Heat losses and material-specific valve pin guidance
According to the manufacturer, the bolted manifold reduces energy losses through heat transfer by around 50 per cent compared with conventional “Thrust-Pad” technology. This figure refers to these heat losses, not to the total energy consumption of the hot runner system. The patented nozzle heater band features an integrated thermocouple.
The valve pin guide is available in different versions and two standard lengths. An actively cooled version is available for polyolefins and thermoplastic elastomers. Depending on the application, other materials can be processed using a valve pin guide without active cooling. The replaceable valve pin guide bushing is integrated directly into the manifold.

Männer: Part of the “Spectrix” group
Männer is part of the “Spectrix” group, which also brings together the “Foboha”, “Synventive”, “Thermoplay”, “Gammaflux” and “Priamus” brands. According to its own figures, the group employs around 2,000 people worldwide. Its capabilities span part design and materials science, mouldmaking, hot runner, sensor and control technology, as well as qualification, specialist injection moulding and product support services.
