RadiciGroup: New Polyamide and PBT Materials for E-Mobility, Electronics and Medical Technology

At Fakuma 2026, RadiciGroup will present its newly integrated organization combining the former High Performance Polymers activities with Domo Engineered Materials (see also plasticker-news dated May 12, 2026). The company will focus on the "Technyl" and "Radilon" product families, which will in future be marketed through a joint platform.

The expanded portfolio covers standard and specialty polyamides, PBT, PPA, high-performance compounds, and materials based on recycled and bio-based feedstocks. The integration also brings together application development, R&D, engineering services, production and sales activities across Europe, Asia and the Americas.

Key target markets include e-mobility, electrical and electronic applications, medical technology, and industrial components.

Materials for High-Voltage and Battery Applications
For e-mobility, RadiciGroup will showcase a range of polyamide compounds for applications requiring high electrical safety, thermal resistance and mechanical performance. The portfolio includes orange-colored grades for high-voltage components as well as materials from the "Radilon", "Radiflam Aestus", "Technyl Star" and "Technyl One" product families.

"Technyl One" is positioned between conventional polyamides and PPA. According to RadiciGroup, the material combines good processability with high thermal resistance and has also shown good results in tests simulating thermal runaway in battery systems.

Other target applications include connectors, busbars, UV-stabilized components for outdoor charging infrastructure, and battery module supports.

Flame-Retardant Polyamides and Hydrolysis-Resistant PBT
For electrical and electronic applications, RadiciGroup is highlighting its "Radiflam HFL" product family. These halogen- and red-phosphorus-free flame-retardant polyamides are designed to reduce mold deposits and lower the risk of electrocorrosion in electrical circuits.

The company is also introducing new grades from the PBT-based "Radiflam B" and "Raditer B" families. The materials offer improved hydrolysis resistance and CTI values of at least 600 V and are intended for electrical components and connectors used under demanding environmental conditions.

New Material Family for Medical Technology
For medical technology, RadiciGroup is expanding its "Technyl" range with the "Technyl Care" product family. The materials are intended for applications requiring defined biocompatibility testing in accordance with ISO 10993.

The focus is on components and applications without direct contact with the human body or biological fluids.

Recycled Materials, Bio-Based Feedstocks and Metal Replacement
RadiciGroup is also presenting material concepts based on recycled and bio-based feedstocks, including the "Technyl 4earth" and "Renycle" product ranges. The materials are intended for circular-economy and closed-loop applications.

The company also sees the replacement of metals with engineering plastics as a way to reduce component weight and simplify part design and manufacturing processes.

Following the integration, RadiciGroup will have additional capabilities in design, process simulation, materials science and application development. For the plastics industry, the main significance lies in the broader polyamide, PBT and PPA portfolio and in the combined expertise in electrification, flame retardancy, high-temperature applications and circular-material concepts.
