PiovanGroup to Showcase New Drying, Material Handling, Cooling and Process Monitoring Systems

PiovanGroup will present an expanded portfolio of auxiliary equipment and process solutions for plastics processing at Fakuma 2026. The group’s exhibit will focus on new technologies for drying, material conveying, gravimetric dosing, industrial cooling and process monitoring, as well as solutions for medical and recycling applications. Exhibiting brands will include "Piovan", "Piovan FDM", "Pelletron" and "Thermal Care".

According to the company, plastics processors in Germany and Central Europe are placing increasing emphasis on energy efficiency, process consistency, material quality and traceability. The systems on display at Fakuma therefore focus strongly on automation, process data acquisition and the integration of auxiliary equipment into existing production environments.

New Drying, Conveying and Dosing Systems
Piovan will showcase its "E-Dryer", a compact drying unit designed for smaller production batches. The system combines a desiccant wheel with an integrated hopper configuration and can achieve dew points down to −40 °C. It requires neither compressed air nor a cooling-water connection, reducing the infrastructure needed for installation and operation.

The automatic "Multilink" coupling station is designed for central conveying systems using a central vacuum source. The modular system can accommodate up to 27 material sources and 20 material destinations in simultaneous operation. Automated source-to-destination assignment is intended to facilitate material changes without manual hose reconnection while reducing the risk of incorrect connections.

For medical plastic products and pharmaceutical packaging, PiovanGroup will introduce the "Quantum Med" gravimetric blending system. The unit is designed to simplify cleaning and material changeovers and to support GMP-compliant production processes. Removable components, stainless-steel product-contact surfaces and integration with the "Winfactory 4.0" process monitoring software are intended to support controlled setup procedures and batch traceability.

Process Cooling and Temperature Control
"Thermal Care" will exhibit its "Accuchiller NQ Series" of mobile, ready-to-connect industrial chillers. The units combine refrigerants with a low global warming potential (GWP) with PLC-based controls, scroll compressors and microchannel condensers.

The company will also showcase its "Easytherm" temperature-control range, including the pressurized "Easytherm EP" and the open, non-pressurized "Easytherm EW". In addition, the "Modula" multi-hopper drying system independently regulates airflow and operating parameters for each connected drying hopper.

Material Handling, Dedusting and Process Data
Other exhibits will include the "HandlinkEVO" manual coupling station with RFID identification and LED-guided operator assistance, as well as the "FG200 Series" from Piovan FDM. The configurable vacuum material receivers are designed for free-flowing pellets, regrind and microgranules and can be fitted with different filtration systems.

Pelletron will present the "XP15 DeDuster" for removing dust and angel hair from plastic pellets in processing and compounding applications. For plant and process monitoring, PiovanGroup will showcase "Winfactory 4.0", which provides functions for recipe management, batch traceability, KPI monitoring and long-term data storage.

For medical applications, the group will also exhibit the "DPA" compressed-air dryer in a medical configuration together with "Moisture Med" for moisture measurement. Another exhibit will be the filterless "Pureflo" vacuum receiver combined with "Ryng", which enables real-time monitoring of material consumption and production throughput.

For recycling applications, the portfolio includes "InspectaBe" for benzene detection and "VOC Minder" for inline, real-time monitoring of volatile organic compounds.

Cloud-Based Condition Monitoring and Service
With "PiovanVista", PiovanGroup will present a further development of its cloud-based "SmartForesight" maintenance service. The platform combines condition monitoring, remote diagnostics, machine health analysis and proactive alerts. Multiple machines can be connected through a shared edge device, while a redesigned user interface is intended to simplify the analysis and interpretation of equipment data.

In Germany, Piovan GmbH employs around 40 people and is responsible for sales, service and engineering for material supply systems, according to the company. Its services range from application analysis and system design to installation, commissioning and operator training. The portfolio also includes helpdesk support, spare-parts supply, preventive and predictive maintenance, instrument calibration, equipment overhaul and system optimization. Piovan has maintained a German subsidiary since 1988.

Live Dedusting Trials at Bodnegg Site
Alongside Fakuma 2026, Pelletron will offer live dedusting trials at its European facility in Bodnegg by prior appointment. Plastics processors can bring their own materials or use available test materials to assess dedusting performance in real time and evaluate application-specific process parameters together with Pelletron engineers.

The Bodnegg facility is located approximately 20 minutes from the Friedrichshafen exhibition grounds.
