At Fakuma 2026, TecPart – Verband Technische Kunststoff-Produkte e.V. will once again organise a joint stand for companies from the plastics processing industry and related sectors. According to the association's latest figures, 23 co-exhibitors will share approximately 300 m² of exhibition space in Hall A5, making this TecPart's largest joint presence at Fakuma to date.A key highlight will be a joint demonstration project by Engel, Adoma, Neidhardt Rohstoff and Polytives, showcasing the use of recycled materials in plastics processing. Plastic cups made from reprocessed styrene-acrylonitrile (SAN) copolymer will be manufactured on-site using injection moulding. The project brings together several stages of the value chain, from raw material sourcing and preparation to additive incorporation, compounding, mould technology and injection moulding. SAN Regrind from In-House Production Scrap The process begins with single-grade SAN regrind from Adoma's in-house production cycle. The company is also supplying the injection mould used to produce the cups. According to the project partners, the regrind is recovered from production scrap and is suitable for the intended food-contact application. Neidhardt Rohstoff processes the regrind at its facility in Isseroda, where it is regranulated and compounded. During this process, the material is coloured and modified using a polymer-based processing additive developed by Polytives. The additive is designed to improve the homogeneity and flow properties of the recycled material, helping to optimise its performance during injection moulding. According to Polytives, the additive is free from PFAS and silicone and is resistant to migration. Live Production on a Tie-Bar-Less Injection Moulding Machine Engel will provide a tie-bar-less "victory 320/80 tech" injection moulding machine for the live demonstration. The machine series is designed to allow flexible integration of moulds and automation equipment. The demonstration aims to show that the reprocessed SAN can be injection-moulded under real production conditions in a stable, repeatable process. The technical focus therefore goes beyond simply using recycled material. Instead, the project highlights the importance of coordinating material selection, reprocessing, additives, mould design and process parameters. It aims to demonstrate that successful closed-loop recycling depends not only on the availability of suitable recycled materials but also on consistent material properties and reliable processing conditions. Part of the Student Tour The cup production project will also feature in the PlasticsEurope student tour at Fakuma 2026 on Friday, 16 October. TecPart is supporting the initiative and will use the live demonstration to give students an insight into the individual processing stages, from regrind preparation, compounding and additive incorporation through to the finished injection-moulded product. The TecPart joint stand, "Forum der Kunststoffprodukte" (Plastic Products Forum), will be located in Hall A5, stands 5104, 5105 and 5106.
