BYK is presenting the new heat stabilizers "BYK-MAX HS 4316" and "BYK-MAX HS 4317" at Fakuma 2026. The two additives are making their official trade fair debut and expand the portfolio for the long-term thermal stabilization of polyamide compounds. The focus is on applications in electric mobility, electrical components and industrial engineering parts. Both products are designed to protect polyamides against thermo-oxidative degradation and help maintain their mechanical properties under continuous heat exposure. Applications cited by the company include connectors in electric vehicles, technical housings, under-the-hood parts and industrial components subject to high loads. "BYK-MAX HS 4316" is based on an organic stabilization system and is intended for both unreinforced and reinforced polyamides. The additive is designed to provide long-term thermal stability. Applications cited include automotive parts, industrial structural components and technical consumer goods. "BYK-MAX HS 4317" takes an inorganic approach. According to the company, the product combines thermal stabilization with improved electrical neutrality compared with conventional inorganic stabilization systems. It is aimed particularly at applications where electrical properties are relevant alongside temperature resistance. The formulation is suitable for unreinforced, mineral-reinforced and glass-fiber-reinforced polyamides. According to the product information, glass-fiber-reinforced polyamides can achieve long-term heat aging resistance of more than 3,000 hours at 150 °C.
