The Wittmann Group is presenting its newly developed Manufacturing Execution System (MES), “Temi Next,” at Fakuma 2026. The platform is designed to map different production processes within a shared data model and provide a data foundation for artificial intelligence applications. Wittmann is also introducing a subscription-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model for the system.According to the company, the software was developed from the ground up to meet the requirements of current and future AI applications. The focus is on the quality of the production data collected and the performance indicators derived from it. Wittmann’s announcement does not specify any concrete AI functions or quantified improvements over the previous version. The functionality extends beyond injection molding. In addition to injection molding machines from various manufacturers, the system is intended to integrate assembly processes as well as filling and packaging equipment. While the previous version already supported Euromap interfaces and OPC UA, Wittmann says the number of available communication protocols has been expanded. The additional protocols supported are not specified. The platform incorporates the energy module from “iMAGOxt,” the consumption management software also developed by Wittmann. This is intended to allow energy consumption and associated CO2 emissions to be allocated to individual machines, components or batches, for example. The combined analysis of energy, process and quality data is intended to support the calculation of production and unit costs. Connections to ERP systems such as “SAP” and “Odoo” are planned to enable integration into existing enterprise systems. The redesigned user interface offers role-based views and displays real-time data without requiring users to refresh the page manually. The software also supports multiple languages. With the subscription model, Wittmann is shifting software delivery to a centrally managed service. Updates, maintenance and further development are to be handled centrally and made immediately available to users. According to the company, this eliminates the need for local software installation and related maintenance work. The scope of use is intended to be adaptable to changing operational requirements. The announcement does not disclose prices, contract terms or the specific basis for billing. According to the company, the previous version, “Temi+,” will continue to receive full support. A migration process to “Temi Next” is planned for existing customers. Fakuma 2026 Friedrichshafen, Germany October 12–16, 2026 Hall B1, Stand 1204 More information: www.wittmann-group.com |
