Wittmann: New generation of temperature control units with higher cooling capacity and simplified maintenance

The Wittmann Group is presenting the new generation of its "Tempro plus 90" temperature control units at Fakuma 2026. The non-pressurised units are designed for applications at temperatures up to 90°C. According to the manufacturer, the "Tempro plus" range provides temperature control with tolerances of ±0.2°C. The redesign focuses on operation, cooling capacity, energy consumption and maintenance access.

The colour touchscreen has been enlarged to 7 inches compared with the previous generation. A new hinged cover houses the external interface cables and USB port. The cables are routed beneath it with strain relief.

According to Wittmann, cooling capacity has increased by ten percent compared with the previous generation. This is achieved through a larger internal diameter of the cooling coil, which is also intended to reduce susceptibility to limescale deposits. The 0.5 kW motor meets the IE3 energy efficiency class. The manufacturer puts the resulting annual energy savings at up to five percent.

Standard equipment includes the "Wittmann 4.0" interface, which allows the temperature control unit to be integrated into a Wittmann injection moulding machine. Additional options allow it to be adapted to the application. The new generation is available in single-circuit and dual-circuit versions. According to the manufacturer, the dual-circuit version requires less floor space than two separate single-circuit units.

To improve maintenance access, the lid of the process fluid tank has been split into two sections. This means that other components no longer need to be removed when replacing parts. The change is intended to reduce maintenance effort and the time required for the work.
