Billion: Focus on Injection Molding Machine Retrofits and Cooperation with Engel

French injection molding machine manufacturer Billion SAS, based in Bellignat, will present retrofit solutions for existing injection molding machines at Fakuma 2026. Another focus of its trade fair appearance will be its cooperation with the Austrian Engel Group (see also plasticker-news dated August 31, 2026).

Retrofitting Control Systems and Drive Technology
Billion will demonstrate the production of marble-effect closure caps using a sandwich injection molding process on a "Hercule Bi-Material 200 T" two-component injection molding machine. The application will also serve to showcase solutions for retrofitting and modernizing existing injection molding machines.

These include replacing older "Dixit 500" and "Dixit 2" control systems with the new "Dixit 4" control system. In addition, Billion offers hybridization and electrification solutions for existing injection molding machines to reduce their energy consumption. According to the company, these retrofit measures are designed to increase productivity and machine availability while reducing capital expenditure compared with purchasing new machines.

Engel Injection Molding Machine for Medical Applications
As part of the recently agreed cooperation, Billion will also demonstrate an injection molding machine from Engel's "e-mac" series in operation at its booth. The machine is designed for medical technology applications and, according to the manufacturer, combines high productivity with a compact footprint. As part of the partnership, Billion intends to include Engel's injection molding machine solutions in its customer consultations in the future. The announcement does not provide any further details about the agreements.

A joint reception hosted by the two companies is scheduled for October 15, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Billion booth. The event will be held in cooperation with the plastics and polymers cluster Polymeris and the French region of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.
