Hamburg-based traceless materials and its distribution partner Biesterfeld are presenting the "traceless-Form" product range at Fakuma 2026. Developed specifically for injection molding, these bio-based compounds are designed to provide an alternative to conventional plastics, particularly in short-life products and applications where recycling is challenging. Biesterfeld will showcase several material grades alongside injection-molded sample parts and potential applications at its exhibition booth. The compounds are based on natural polymers derived from plant-based residues from the agricultural industry. A patented process is used to extract and functionalize the polymers before converting them into pellets suitable for thermoplastic processing. According to the manufacturer, the materials are 100% bio-based and home-compostable in accordance with NF T 51-800. Compatible with Standard Injection Molding Equipment One of the key features of "traceless-Form" is that the compounds can be processed on conventional injection molding machines. According to the supplier, they are compatible with both cold-runner and hot-runner systems and are suitable for multi-cavity molds. Processing temperatures are typically in the range of 110 to 130°C, potentially reducing energy consumption compared with many conventional thermoplastics. traceless sees particular potential in short-life injection-molded components, single-use and temporary applications, and products for which mechanical recycling is technically or economically challenging. The compounds are not intended as a universal replacement for conventional plastics but rather as an additional material option for applications where closed-loop recycling is difficult to implement. In May 2026, traceless materials and Biesterfeld entered into a strategic distribution agreement covering the European market for the injection molding compounds. Their joint appearance at Fakuma 2026 is intended to support the industrial adoption of the new natural-polymer materials. Also in May 2026, traceless inaugurated its first industrial-scale production facility in Hamburg-Harburg. The plant has a designed annual production capacity of approximately 3,000 metric tons and is currently undergoing a phased production ramp-up.
