Michel Tube: Retrofittable Coupling Coding Systems and B2B Shop

Michel Tube Engineering GmbH, Tauberbischofsheim, Germany, is showcasing colour, mechanical and RFID-based coding options for its “Switch&Lock 360” hose coupling system at Fakuma 2026. The supplier of components for pneumatic conveying systems is also presenting its “michel.shop” B2B online shop, featuring configurators for coupling stations and material containers.

The colour and mechanical coding options allow material lines to be clearly identified in plastics processing plants. They can be retrofitted and offer up to 30 possible combinations. A new two-colour version is available under the name “Duo”. The colour and mechanical solutions require no power supply and can be used at various points in production.

For assigning material sources to machines, Michel Tube is introducing RFID-based coding for the coupling system for the first time. According to the company, the standalone solution can be retrofitted. A control panel integrated into the coupling station supports installation and operation and displays the current configuration in real time using a 3D animation. Incorrect connections are logged and reported via a customer-specific alarm. Authorised personnel can change the assignments and the stored geometry.

The B2B shop enables users to submit enquiries and place orders and provides stock and delivery information. The configurators help users configure coupling stations and material containers. The shop is accessible around the clock.

Michel Tube was founded in 2014 and, according to its own figures, employs 45 people at two locations. The company manufactures and distributes components for pneumatic conveying systems for the plastics, food and chemical industries. Its automated production equipment includes tube laser cutting systems and welding robots.
