For the economical size reduction of rubber bales such as natural- and butyl rubber which is though to grind in only one step, Pallmann (www.pallmann.eu) has developed the Ultra-Granulator™ PS-C with an integrated guillotine. Precutting of the rubber bales is thereby not necessary. Granulator with integrated guillotine The rubber bales are fed manually, via conveyor- or rollers into the Ultra-Granulator™. A guillotine, integrated in the material feed chute, rhythmically cuts the bale into slices. The amount of cuts per minute of the guillotine is controllable and can be adjusted to outside influences such as the infeed speed of the bales. The cut slices fall into the grinding chamber where an open guillotine rotor with a high moment of inertia, especially developed for this area of application, allows size reduction of these materials without the incurrence of increased temperatures. The integrated guillotine therewith saves a separate processing step outside the machine. The mill is of a robust welded steel construction, built for rough continuous operation. The machine housing is split horizontally and can be opened either mechanically, manually or hydraulically, depending on machine size. The final particle size is determined by the mesh size of the screen installed. The size reduced material is discharged downwards out of the mill. The granules so produced can be conveyed either pneumatically or mechanically. Complete systems for the Preparation of Rubber Pallmann also supplies complete systems for the one-, two- or three-step preparation of rubber materials, individually designed to the customers´ demands. Load-controlled conveying of the material into the mill ensures an optimum amount of material in the mill for economical size reduction. Well proven dusting agent dosing- and recovery systems tuned to the specific application are used. If the rubber is used in cable- or seal production or for other elastic parts such as bitumen- and asphalt production, it must be available in powder form. For these applications, Pallmann offers complete pulverizing systems for the preparation of rubber granules into a wide variety of particle sizes. Turbo mills, type PLM (Photo), and disc mills, type PKM, are used for these applications, as well as various screening- and extraction systems.
