Kreyenborg Group: Successful Forum „Efficiency Increase in Extrusion“

On occasion of its forum in Münster, Germany on 17th September, 2009 the Kreyenborg Group (www.kreyenborg-group.de) presented how to increase considerably the efficiency of new and existing extrusion lines. More than 130 experts belonging to the field of plastics processing had come in order to get to know new suggestions and solutions regarding this topic.

Efficiency in extrusion as an appropriate instrument in the crisis
In these times of crisis an economic production is more important like never before. The decisive trick is to increase the efficiency of the lines and to decrease the operating costs respectively by only small investments. The forum „Efficiency increase in extrusion“ of the Kreyenborg Group had been exactly matched with this goal. In the idyllic ambiance of Gut Havichhorst hard facts and figures relating to latest technology were presented.

From the latest backflush technology with screen changers, which allows for an increased use of recycling material, and energysaving insulation of melt filters to the retrofitting of melt pumps for efficiency increase of the complete line, the KREYENBORG GmbH (www.kreyenborg.de) presented a number of new approaches. BKG Bruckmann & Kreyenborg Granuliertechnik GmbH (www.bkg-pelletizing.com) introduced the underwater pelletizing systems of the new generation which permit an automatic production with high line availability. CrystallCut® of BKG sets economic standards in the crystallisation of PET. BSG Bruckmann Steuerungstechnik GmbH (www.bsg.de) demonstrated how to increase the efficiency of complete lines by a modern automation. ONEconcept of BSG is the future-proof system for operation, visualisation, parameter recording and data transfer. Kreyenborg Plant Technology GmbH & Co. KG (www.kreyenborg-pt.de) explained the advantages of the infrared technology for heating, drying and crystallising of bulk goods. In addition to the continuous infrared drum now the company also offers a discontinuous version for the processing of batches.

After the speech sequence the participants could convince themselves of the performance of the presented systems in the technical centre of BKG. Among others, the KREYENBORG Vtype screen changer and the BKG CrystallCut® system were integrated into the test line.
