In recent years underwater pelletizing systems more and more squeezed classic systems like strand pelletizing systems out of the market. BKG Bruckmann & Kreyenborg Granuliertechnik GmbH (www.bkg.de) from Münster in Germany is closely associated with this development. In October 1994, when Theodor Bruckmann and Jan-Udo Kreyenborg founded BKG, the aim of the company was to enable the pelletizing of technical plastics like PET, PA6 or PBT under water. Meanwhile the two founders, who are both acting as managing partners of BKG today, have achieved much more. They did not only teach the technical plastics to find their feet on an underwater pelletizing system, but they also attained the position as world market leader in this market. Thus today already approx. 20 % of the world wide polyamide virgin material is produced by means of a BKG pelletizing system. The turn-key lines more and more also prevail with the production of Polyester and EPS foams. Even the largest underwater pelletizing systems for micro pellets (in the field of EPS foams), which have ever been manufactured, came from the factory in Münster. In the field of energy saving production BKG assumes a special pioneering task. The inline crystallisation for PET CrystallCut® ranks among the numerous innovations in this field. In the course of the production and recycling of PET, with this process pelletizing and crystallising are combined in only one processing step. In addition to an enormous energy saving the result out of it is an improved melting property of the material for further processing. All in all today BKG is one of the world-wide leading suppliers of underwater pelletizing systems. More than 100 employees in the headquarters at Münster continuously provide for new innovations and offer an all-over service. As member of the Kreyenborg Group and together with the other members Kreyenborg GmbH, BSG Bruckmann Steuerungstechnik and Kreyenborg Plant Technology GmbH & Co. KG, BKG is considered as global partner for the plastics industry. Photo: Managing partners of BKG: Jan-Udo Kreyenborg (left) and Theodor Bruckmann. |
