The Mixing Nozzle SMN (picture) of StaMixCo Technology AG (www.stamixco.com) is used on injection moulding machines where it mixes and homogenises the polymer melt during dosing into the die. This results in higher quality and lower cost of plastic parts. Differences in temperature and colorant concentration are eliminated which reduces spots, streaks, clouds and usage of expensive colorant master batch by 20-40 %. Better moulded parts result with narrower part tolerances, less distortion, less weight variation and less off-specification parts. Improved part quality also results when using regrind material. The Mixing Nozzle is compact, has no moving parts and thus requires no maintenance. The mixing elements, consisting of a ring and the mixing grid, are cast of a high strength stainless steel. Because of their unique design they are practically indestructible under normal operating conditions. The mixing elements do not have any free ends which can break off during normal harsh operating conditions of injection moulding machines. The Mixing Nozzle SMN is supplied in mixer diameters of 12, 18, 22, 27, 33 und 40 mm which handle a broad range of injection moulding machines having screw diameters from 30 mm to 180 mm. The marketing is made through a network of distributors who locally produce the nozzle bodies and supply the complete mixing units ready to install and to operate to the end users.
