Erema: Massive interest in recycling plastics at K 2004

The Austrian machine builder EREMA (www.erema.at) presented world-class plastics recycling technologies in Düsseldorf and was more than satisfied with its trade fair appearance. "With around 750 contacts, most of them from Europe
and Asia, and around 40 % new potential customers, interest in our products was bigger than ever before" enthuses Gerhard Wendelin, Managing Director of EREMA from Ansfelden near Linz. "With a turnover of € 4.5
million, our best earnings from a trade fair since we first participated at K, we are bound to achieve an increase in turnover of 15% yet again this year.“

The positive feedback from the market is due largely to the new design of the machines and innovative developments which place EREMA well in front of the competition.

Two of the new developments were sold right from the trade show stand. A PC 1514 TVE-DD system featuring patented Erema DD technology. "DD" stands for "Double Disc" technology and separates "shredding, mixing, drying and prehomogenising" processes from the extruder feeding stage. As a result the extruder operates extremely smoothly at high performance and with low energy consumption. The second system sold, a COAX 63 E for processing fibres, tapes and lumps, downsizes the range a model to provide the optimum entry level version.

The demand for plastics recycling technology is as high as ever. According to reports in the automotive industry press Mercedes Benz already uses recycled plastics in 21% of all plastic components in its A class model. The discussion as to whether plastic waste should be recycled or incinerated is causing more heat than ever before. And not least in the PET packaging market which also expects high growth rates over the next few years and demands innovative recycling systems such as VACUREMA technology from EREMA.
