New technique to remove hazardous substances in waste packaging by supercritical carbon dioxide in the recycling process

A Spanish technology centre is developing a new technique for eliminating hazardous substances from waste polyethylene (PE) packaging to be used for solvents or phytosanitary products. This technique uses a technology that applies supercritical carbon dioxide (sc-CO2) in the extrusion phase of the plastic recycling process. The centre seeks partners to discuss further research ideas or to establish technical agreements to adapt and implement the technique sharing know-how.
