Domo Chemicals: New production plant for polyamides in China

Domo Chemicals inaugurates its new 40,000 square metre plant in Haiyan, Jiaxing, Zhejiang, China. The EUR 14 million (RMB 100 million) investment represents a potential doubling of Domo's commitment to the Chinese market. The new plant could increase the current capacity of 25,000 tonnes of "Technyl" polyamides to 35,000 tonnes and 50,000 tonnes in the long term, according to a company statement.

Domo Chemicals has recorded robust growth in China since 2016, which was followed by a series of capacity expansions at the Jiaxing site. Most recently, annual sales grew by 20 per cent, which led to the ground-breaking ceremony for the new plant in Haiyan. The opening ceremony took place during Chinaplas 2024.

As part of its self-imposed sustainability targets, Domo aims to increase the proportion of sustainable products in its sales of technical materials from ten per cent today to 20 per cent by 2030. The new plant in China is expected to play a key role in this and at the same time strengthen Domo's position as a supplier of engineering materials.
